Stephanie Przybylek
French Horn

A native of Western Pennsylvania, Stephanie Przybylek has played French horn since fifth grade in 1976, when a helpful band director offered her parents free use of two beat-up school horns for her and her twin sister. Economics having prevailed (hey, you can’t beat a free horn!), she decided she liked the instrument and stuck with it through college and beyond.

Przybylek is a former Pennsylvania PMEA All-State Band and Orchestra player. She has played semi-professionally throughout Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware in musical ensembles ranging from opera companies and orchestras to brass quintets, in ensembles including the Franklin Silver Cornet Band, Franklin Civic Opera, Cornell University Savoyards, Syracuse University Brass Ensemble, Oswego Opera Company, Skaneateles Brass, Brass Tacks Brass Quintet, Memorial Concert Band of Colonie, Music Company Orchestra, Signature Brass Quintet, and First State Symphonic Band.

Stephanie holds a B.A. in Art, Summa Cum Laude, from Gettysburg College, and an M.A. in Art History from the University of Delaware. When not looking for music gigs or visiting thoroughbred race tracks, she is a museum curator and administrator.

After 13 snowy years in museums and historical agencies in upstate New York, she came to Delaware in 2005, where she is currently the Director of Museum Programs for the Historical Society of Delaware and a MAP surveyor for the American Association of Museums.
