PROTECTED BATHING BEACHES BATHING ONLY: 90th, 103rd, 108th & 119th Street Beach.
HOBIE CATAMARAN BEACHES and WINDSURFING: - 120th through 122nd Street
BEACH REGULATIONS: fires, alcoholic beverages, bottles, glass, sharp objects, loud noise, indecent language or actions strictly prohibited. Picnicking permitted. Place trash/paper in trash cans, glass/aluminum in recycling containers. NO DOGS permitted on the beach, boardwalk or dunes ANYTIME between March 1 and September 30. No sleeping on beach or boardwalk from sunset to sunrise. Trespassing on the dunes STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Use the paths only. BICYCLES permitted on ONLY between 5:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Motorized bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, rollerskates and mopeds NOT PERMITTED on boardwalk ANYTIME.
PUBLIC DOCK RULES: The use of the public docks shall be at the risk of the user. Use of the public docks during the hours of darkness is prohibited. Alcoholic beverages and picnicking are prohibited. DOGS AND CATS: An Animal control warden is employed by the borough. Dogs must be licensed and kept on a leash when not confined. Droppings must be retrieved immediately by the person in charge of the dog. Cats must be licensed.
TRASH AND RECYCLING INFORMATION: Recycling is mandatory in Stone Harbor as it is in all of New Jersey. Recyclables are picked up at "rear yard" locations as is our regular trash. Recyclables should be seperated from other materials and set out for pick-up on scheduled days.
What do we recycle?
PAPER: Newspaper, magazines, paper bags, junk mail, and corrugated cardboard (packing boxes).
GLASS: Bottles and jars (all colors). Please rinse content.
PLASTIC: Soda Bottles, milk jugs, water jugs, Household plastic containers with a 1 or 2 imprinted in triangle on bottom of container.
ALUMINUM & METAL CANS: Soda cans, beer cans, empty aerosol cans etc.
HOW DO WE RECYCLE? It's easy to seperate; you only need TWO CONTAINERS. Paper Items placed in large grocery bags. Glass, Plastic, Aluminum and Tin cans are placed in a single container. Do not crush.
WHAT WE DO NOT RECYCLE: Do not include light bulbs, window glass, auto glass, drinking glasses, cookware, tableware and paint cans. These go into the regular trash. For additional information call the PUBLIC WORKS Department: (609) 368-7311.
